Museum/Visitor's Service Assistant

The City of Harlem is currently taking applications for the position of a Museum and Visitor's Services Assistant.  This position is a part-time hourly non-exempt position. 

This position is performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of the daily operations a the Harlem Museum and Visitor Center to include interacting with the general public to provide information regarding the Museum and the City of Harlem.  Part-time duties may include maintaining of related records, retail sails of gift shop items, receiving inventory, setting up merchandise displays as well as displays in the museum.  We are looking for someone with an outgoing personality that will interact well with other personnel and the public to provide a positive experience for all.  This position is required to participate in events put on by the City (Oliver Hardy Festival, Christmas in Downtown Harlem, Summer Movie Series, etc.).  This position reports directly to the Harlem Museum/Visitor Center Director.  The minimum starting pay is $15.76 per hour.

The Museum/Visitor Center is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10:30 - 4:00.  The hours for this position may be up to 35 hours per week with a varying schedule; there will be some Saturday hours.
