Housing

Harlem’s housing stock features a mixture of new and old.  We have many historic homes in town and a number of new neighborhoods as well.  Historic homes are found throughout the town, but particularly on North Hicks Street, West Trippe Street, and West Forrest Street. For those seeking new homes, Ansley Place, Cornerstone Creek, Hardy Station, and Phillips Crossing offer a variety of designs and floor plans. Harlem also has several senior housing options including Planer Mill Village and West Forrest Assisted Living.

In 2013, a housing assessment was completed that examined the condition of each structure. The assessment showed that the overall condition of Harlem’s housing stock is good, and that Harlem is ripe for additional residential development.
