Fire Department

Harlem Fire Station

The Harlem Fire Department is comprised of approximately twenty dedicated volunteers and three full-time firefighters.  The department has two stations – Station #1 at 110 West Milledgeville Road and Station #2 at 6470 Campbell’s Way.  Equipment includes one ladder truck, two engines, a rescue truck, and a brush truck.

One interesting item to note: the department still has the very first truck it ever owned.  “Old Red” was purchased in the early 1950s. It still runs and is used in parades and for other special events.

In addition to emergency response, the Harlem Fire Department also offers fire safety education programs for schools, day care centers, churches, or any other requesting group or organization. Smoke detectors are also available to Harlem residents for no charge.  For more information, call (706) 556-0344.
