The Harlem Department of Public Safety is committed to creating a safe, secure and desirable living and working environment for our citizens, visitors and business community. Help us stop the crime problems in our community by letting us know your concerns. You can report problems anonymously-----or you can provide your contact information and a staff member will contact you to discuss your concerns.

You can participate in one of two ways:

Print out the HDPS Crime Stopper Card, fill it out, and drop in one of the following locations:

Harlem Department of Public Safety Headquarters: 180 N. Louisville Street or
City Hall, 320 N. Louisville Street

Fill out the HDPS Crime Stopper Card online, then submit via email by clicking the SUBMIT BY EMAIL button in the upper right hand corner.

If you are planning to be out of town for an extended period of time and would like the HDPS to include your home on the "House Watch" list, please fill out the request form online and submit via email by clicking the SUBMIT BY EMAIL button in the upper right hand corner or print it and bring to the HDPS.

MISSION STATMENT:

We, the Harlem Department of Public Safety, are committed to prevention of crime and the protection of life and property; the preservation of peace, order and safety; the enforcement of laws and ordinances; while safeguarding the constitutional rights of all people.

With Community service as our foundation we are committed to enhance the quality of life, investigating problems as well as incidents, seeking solutions and fostering a sense of security in our community and it's people. we are committed to nurture public trust by holding ourselves to the highest standards of performance and ethics.

 

 

Harlem's Public Safety Department has been providing fire protection services in the City of Harlem since 1948. The Department is continuing to grow and expand to better serve the needs of the residents in its territory.  

In addition to emergency response, the Harlem Public Safety Department also offers fire safety education programs for schools, day care centers, churches, or any other requesting group or organization.
