The clubs and organizations in Harlem play an important role in making it a pleasant and vital city. Here are just a few of the active clubs in Harlem.

Harlem Woman’s Club

“Builders of a Better Community” under the leadership of the Georgia Federation of Woman’s Clubs.

Throughout the club’s history, it has fostered mutual counsel and helpfulness throughout Harlem. Currently there are 34 members of the club. Meetings are held September through May on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Harlem Woman’s Club Building, Highway 78 in Harlem.

Pioneer Garden Club

The Pioneer Garden Club was organized in 1958 and is part of the state and national garden clubs.  Meeting dates are the third Tuesday of each month, September through May, in the library meeting room unless otherwise announced.  Our purpose is to learn, to teach, to plant, and to serve.  New members and visitors are welcome.  For further information call (706) 556-6656.

Harlem Arts Council

The Harlem Arts Council was formed in the fall of 2014. We are a nonprofit educational organization. Our purpose is to offer the citizens of Harlem and the surrounding area a quality experience with performing, visual and historical arts. Last spring we sponsored Arts in the Park, which presented wonderful local artists and great music. We plan to repeat and enlarge this festival in April 2016.  We recently sponsored a fun pumpkin carving contest in conjunction with Attic Treasures and the Pioneer Garden Club. We are proud to offer a variety of art classes. These classes change each month and are for people of all ages, and experience. The Harlem Arts Council meets monthly and anyone interested in any aspect of art / history is invited. Meetings will resume in January. Meetings are held in the art room of Attic Treasures, the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm.
